Hi all, I've been FAS'g my car while taking turns and now my car has started to make a whirring noise when taking turns. I hear the noise with the ICE on and off, and I never had this noise before hypermiling. My car has power steering and is it possible that the rack/other components be damaged by turning without the hydraulic assistance? Thanks

p.s. (I could try to record a sound clip if that helps)

My minivan has made a sound that maybe similar to what you're hearing for many years. Only on slow corners, like in parking lots or after stop signs etc and not every time.

I really don't know if they're the same thing, but if they're you might be fine.

Hi Yab13:

___The only time I remember a groan in a power steering unit was in an 87 Sable when the fluid level dropped out of site in the reservoir. Give that a check and look at its color to make sure you do not need to flush and fill.

___Good Luck
