___I have the same thoughts now as I did the when Exxon did its press release as posted in the News Forum prior to EVS23. 20 years in the battery technology business and nothing to show for it? That is a key sign. It is similar to Chevron’s Cobasys. 10 + years in the business with 200 employees not producing anything of merit. We know Cobasys was a dummy corporation setup to camp on the NiMH IP’s and by all appearances, Exxon/Mobil appears to be trying do the same thing?

back on topic, but this news release looks almost like it contains just about the same info you posted last week or so? Nice to see that exxon is pushing its press releases to make sure it still has a place in the coming future. We all know BEV and hybrids are the future... I'm sure exxon doesn't want its share holders getting left out in the cold. :rolleyes:

I didn't RTFA, but I'm guessing that exxon wants to find out how to make li-ion batteries safe and practical for cars before anyone else so that they can't be used in cars. You know, because they'll have some kind of patent on their discoveries.

Very similar to this, Nextels push to talk worked great on their network. On the gsm network there were not any good chips to make that work as well. When a company finally found a way to do it Nextel bought them up so that no one on the GSM networks could do push to talk.

Nothing like buying the competition to stifle innovation.
