Found this after searching for over a month...
Looks neat, but way to expensive for my taste! http://electronics-pluz.stores.yahoo.net/mipevimomiwr.html
Hi Blake:
___You have probably already done this but Billy has his Insight stripped of the mirrors with an LCD and rear view camera setup and IIRC, it was less than $800? The Screen size was close to that of a small laptop too! I am sure he has posted the details here but if not, PM him as he has the package listed to the letter in his last E-Bay sale.

I'm still awaiting conformation from NCDMV that it is legal to replace my mirrors with LCD screens because I have window Tint. NC law allows you to remove the passenger mirror if you do not have window tint, but requires all three mirrors if any tint is on the windows.
IIFC billy got a wavier from his local law enforcement agency saying that his LCD system met the intent of the law, I just want to make sure I'm legal because the last thing I want to do is install all the stuff then have to rip it out because I won't pass inspection.
I'll most likely go the route that he did but with an added twist... replacing the head unit with a GPS/video screen... but I have yet to find a system that will allow me to display two video feeds at once on a screen, sortof like a Picture in picture system, except split screen on the indash monitor.
I'll modify the side mirror mounts just like he did, except integrate camera's into them so the view they give will be same as the stock mirrors.

costco has the wireless backup cameras for 80 bux. i am thinking of getting two sets and mounting one on each side in place of the outside mirrors in small pods, with the two monitors mounted on the dash in the outside corners. as long as they dont interfere with each other...

The only thing I'd be curious about is how the camera's get their power... if its with a battery, then it would have to be easily accessable to change them, also I wonder how long the batteries would last. Just a consideration.

Even if they run on batteries, 12v is available in the door harness to run a suitable regulator / power supply.

This is getting pretty close to what I'm lookin' for. I need distant side view. The little interior mirrors like basjoos used would cover the close-in work. A third camera would be needed to mount on the centerline to replace the rearview mirror.
An aerodynamic rear end treatment is murder on what you can see.
