:bananapartyhat:Hi! I just found this forum. I've owned 3 Hybrids since 2002. My first was a 2002 Honda Insight CVT. I put just over 50k miles on it, getting a lifetime average of 52 MPG. I traded it in on a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. I put 53k miles on it, averaging around 45 MPG. I traded it in on my latest, a 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid AWD. It is getting around 28 MPG (except now, with colder weather, I'm getting around 26 MPG). You can see that as the size of the vehicle goes up, the MPG's go down. Comfort and safety for me outweighs fuel economy.
My daily commute (4 days per week) is around 170 miles roundtrip on relatively flat ground in Central California.

Welcome, Dham!
If you browse the forums you will discover a few people driving FEHs and pulling very nice numbers from them. If you want to work at it you could substantially increase your average in that vehicle.

Welcome to another FEH owner :) :) :)
Give it a chance to break in a little, & you will be *very* pleasantly surprised by the mpg's you can get :)

Welcome!
Was the Civic uncomfortable? My understanding is that it is an extremely safe automobile.

No kidding, the 8th Gen Civic is often a top choice in terms of safety !!

No matter what you drive a commute that long has to stink. Comfort on the trip would have to be pretty important.
The way your vehicle size trend is going I (jokingly) predict that you will move closer to work and commute in a hybrid transit bus.;)

I drove the '07 HCH and my knee hit the e-brake. That sucks I can never own one, cause I don't fit well.

Reminds me of my cousin who had a mustang. He had to slide the seat all the way back, lean it back and his knees still hit the dash. His car was more of a 3 seater than it was a 4 seater.
Welcome Fellow FEH owner...
hehe... I finally get to say that. I've got 11 months behind the wheel of a Prius, and now I just got my wife into a MMH (re-badged FEH).
Welcome and look over the how to hypermile the FEH article (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=350).
