I just got a DashDyno SPD and it doesn’t give instantaneous or average fuel economy on my 1999 Honda Civic HX because it doesn’t have a Mass Air Flow sensor! I contacted Auterra and they said they’re working on a different method where the Dynoscan can measure fuel economy without a Mass Air Flow sensor.
Does this same problem occur with the Scangauge? Or does the scangauge work on a car without a Mass Air flow sensor? Actually, does it work on 1996 to 2000 Honda Civics? Or the D16Y5 engine?
Here’s what Scangauge say in it’s FAQ –

- probably doesn’t work if you don’t have a Manifold Absolute Pressure reading?
