I saw an item called a velocity turbine tuner that is supposed to help with mileage and is reasonably inexpensive. It installs in the intake pipe. Is this just a bunch of hoopla?

The news section has a link to a Popular Mechanics article from a couple years back where they dyno tested it. Blake 12-01-2007, 07:09 PM Junk... there was a new thread posted here a couple days ago that showed it not only doesn't work... but it actually decreases your fuel mileage AND horsepower. Big Dave 12-02-2007, 06:43 PM It is an old, old scam. My father bit on this back in the 70s and installed it on a 283 Chevy Impala. The engine vacuum sucked the little fans into the cylinders and we spent a day pulliong the heads and getting the debris out of the cylinders. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
