I'm thinking about this mima install way to much.....watching my kid play the Wii last night and thinking how could I get a Nintendo nunchuk to work with the system...It is ergonomic and would be such a hoot to show off at the cruise nights...and there 20 bucks....hmmm

Its just a bluetooth controller, there are several ports/drivers to get the Wii controller to work with a normal PC for controling games and such. If Mike makes MIMA able to connect with a PC, I bet your idea would be easily doable.

Mike is taking a much needed break from MIMA, but the schematics, source code, and theory of operation is up on 99mpg.com, so dig in , and make it happen.
Nintendo nunchuk, now that one has not been suggested before, good one.

Lets see, a quick list, not in any particular order:
1.Convert my telephone truck to full electric
2.Convert my Leaf vacuum, Rototiller, Wood chipper, Lawn mower to full electric
3.Design a prius subpack based modular 48V smart subpack, that can be put in series/parallel to make larger packs
4. Fully instrument the Insight CVT on a stand
5. Rebuild my solar/coal/wood heating system
6.Finish the addition I put on my home 3 years ago
7. Put a new roof on my home in preparation for installing a grid tied solar PV system
8. Test Dougs V-Boost converter(When it is available)
9. Clean the MIMA stuff off the pool table, so I can have a game of pool for the first time in over a year.
10. get the Prius synergy drive and Inverter running at full power, in preparation for using it in a full electric Insight.
Many of the projects will be part of the Saturday workshops. Come on over and lend a hand.
;)
Spare time, What is that?

If I lived within a days driving distance, I'd be there in a heartbeat... but sadly the distance is to much for me.

Your 48 volt prius subpack idea... is that for your conversion of an insight to full electric (coupled with the prius synergy drive) or an idea for a secondary battery pack for V-Boost?

I have plenty of free time... I just wish I could help you out (even though my limited experience with electrical things would probably mean I'd be getting in the way more than anything else ;) ) But as for mechanical things... I'm pretty handy :)

Mike, number 2 on your list was easy for me
I no longer buy gasoline mowers or tillers.
Thanks to Mantis & B&D. we have a acre
of land . As far as the leaf blower goes those
are not needed in this part of NM.

R E P U B L I C,
Have a link to a photo of your machine?
Now you have me curious.
I have an Eteck motor on a universal mount on my leaf vacuum as of this afternoon.
Just started snowing, so I can't try it out. Bummer

The idea is to build up 6 subpack NIMH power blocks with built in controller, the power blocks will be able to be put in series or parallel to make up larger packs for all of the things you mention. A universal 6.5AH NIMH pack with a nominal 43.2V(6 pack).
Still think that with all the Prius out there that the batterys will become more readily available. Probably can by them from the manufacturer if the quantities were high enough.
;)
