I came here looking for additional details on the new smart fortwo. I have one on order for delivery in the second quarter of 2008.

My wife and I share a 2005 Scion xA which has been very economical over the past 50K miles. But we commute from Oakland to San Francisco and would like to save even more by using the smart.

While I've owned a lot of cars during my 40 years of driving, I must add that I've never had the need for an engine with more than 4-cylinders.

Looking forward to saving even more fuel with tips from this site.

I'm pretty new here too, but I'll be the first to say welcome! I checked out the Fortwo and it looks like a pretty cool car. Not bad on the price either. I look forward to your feedback once you get it.

I found these sites about the Fortwo:

Hi!

Welcome to Cleanmpg.com !

Here is a review by our guru :-) Wayne:

I would guess the Smart would be the penultimate hypermiling car which would be able to go way way above the new EPA estimates. I might be interested in one later, but I am also bothered by a statement about lane changing. I have had a lot of issues of people comign into my blind spot right now.

I think if I did little highway driving, I would buy one as soon as they came out.

I hope you also stick around to learn more on hypermiling. You can really pull the mileage out of just about any car. I have jumped 8 mpgs on my Corolla. A car like the Smart would get really amazing mileage with skillful driving. This adds up!

Hi Scott,
Too bad you have to wait so long for your Smart for Two. It's really great that Benz decided there was a market here, that is a sharp looking vehicle. Imagine never having to look for a parking spot!!! Can't wait to have you post your tanks.
