Just go back my upgraded XGauge. I was able to get SOC but not the HV battery voltage. I checked the correct entries several times but I just get a blank reading. Any ideas?

View Full Version : Prius HV Battery Voltage krousdb 11-24-2007, 03:50 PM Just go back my upgraded XGauge. I was able to get SOC but not the HV battery voltage. I checked the correct entries several times but I just get a blank reading. Any ideas? Blake 11-24-2007, 09:34 PM What's the firmware version on your scangauge? krousdb 11-25-2007, 11:00 AM Version 3.15 Blake 11-25-2007, 01:41 PM The manual I have says.. TXD: 0033 RFX: 0100023B0000 RXD: 2010 MTH: 0001000010000 Name : BTV I know when I was setting up one of my xgauges I mixed up the RFX and RXD fields. Although I don't see how that would be possible given these number combinations. Do your settings agree with mine? krousdb 11-25-2007, 02:12 PM Mine are the same except for MTH= 000100010000. That is what the PDF downloaded from the site indicated. I think you made a typo? Blake 11-25-2007, 02:16 PM Yep, I made a typo. :) Wish I could be of more help.... since my limited experience with the scangauge is with my insight only doesn't look like I'll be of any more use :( Good luck fixing it! philmcneal 11-25-2007, 04:53 PM hm scangauge does b. voltage now eh? interesting let me know ur voltages so i can compare mine that has 180k on the odometer. krousdb 11-25-2007, 05:11 PM hm scangauge does b. voltage now eh? interesting let me know ur voltages so i can compare mine that has 180k on the odometer. As soon as I get it to work I will let you know. But since your 2003 has 273.6V battery pack compared to my 201.6V pack, the numbers won't really mean anything to you. BTW, my 2004 has 111k on the odometer right now. philmcneal 11-25-2007, 08:29 PM nono i have a 04 just like you, it has 180k on the odo, my just for reference 240 volt is around 70% S.O.C for me but i notice that swings according to battery temp as well. krousdb 11-26-2007, 08:03 AM Under your vehicles it shows 2003 Prius. That is what got me confused. How do you get the voltage info? Do you have a scangauge? xcel 11-26-2007, 01:49 PM Hi Dan: ___Phil has Can-View in his 04. ___Good Luck ___Wayne Blake 11-26-2007, 02:06 PM Under your vehicles it shows 2003 Prius. That is what got me confused. How do you get the voltage info? Do you have a scangauge? He has two prius' listed... I was confused there for a second too ;) (btw, what is the correct way to plural prius? hah, I thought prius' looked good so I settled on that... maybe prii?) philmcneal 11-26-2007, 11:13 PM sorry about the confusion i got a lot of catching up to do, i even have a bunch of gas receipt int he glove compartment that needs to be entered on the database as well. But yes Wayne is right I have can view with the September update so its pretty recent in terms of letting me know what's up with my Prius, I'd feel totally naked without it. So far my observation has been voltage swings between 170 and 245 at idle amps. Well in EV mode if you try to accelerate and voltage shows less than 170 then EV mode will be kicked out, I'm a bit conservative so when I do accel in EV mode I never let the Voltage drop below 200. When charging the highest i've seen voltage is around 270 but then it sags back down to around 230-240 ish. But as well 240 volts @ 10 degree C battery temp can mean 70% SOC but 245 volts @ 25 degrees C can mean 70% SOC so things can vary quite a bit. I dunno you tell me! DGH 12-03-2007, 06:00 PM I talked to Ron at ScanGauge today, he acknowledged the issue with the Prius and the BTV not working. When the fix is available, look for updated values in the PDF for Xgauge, on the ScanGauge site.
