New personal record in the making!

Coming to work this morning the Insight hit 793 miles on this tank as I pulled into the parking lot.
The fuel gauge still shows two bars, and the low level normally comes on when it drops to one bar - that will probably happen driving home tonight.

76.8 LMPG and 83.8 MPG for this tank showing on the FCD.

Pics to come after the refuel stop.

Hi Don:

___Low fuel light to empty was worth ~ 1.6 gallons in mine. Are you now considering pushing it just a little further now ;)

___Good Luck

OK , OK...

After all this positive reinforcement and reading about xcel's and krousdb's adventure at the Tour Del Sol, I will push this tank further and go until the last bar disappears.

I may want to put that spare 1 gallon can in the car, huh?

At zero bars you should easily have 50 miles left in the tank. So don't sweat. I know what you are going through and I used to get very nervous at 1 bar. These days 0 bars to me in my civic means get gas in the next 50 or so miles ;) like wayne said 1.6 gallons are likely in there. And if you want to be conservative just say 1. And figure you have as many miles as your average for the tank.

I could have made it from Lewisville, Texas to Denver driving like that this weekend - great job! :)

The end is here -

Half way to work and the last bar on the fuel gauge disappeared.

I'm not brave enough to drive around with nothing showing on the gas gauge -

So at 821.9 miles, I refueled. OOPS! 10.1 gallons.
I hadn't gassed up since 3/30, prices are much higher now. $2.799 a gallon, Exxon Regular.
84.1 MPG, 76.8 LMPG on the FCD for that tank.

91.3 MPG for the remainder of the commute to work, it's a good start on the next tank.

how many gallons does the tank hold? I'm curious to see if my rough calculations were correct.

According to the owners manual, the tank capacity is 10.6 gallons.

That would work out to 82.1 MPG actual for the 10 gallons the car took.

Wow. I'm suprised you only had .5 left in the tank. I would have expected at least twice that.

Excellent job! My best has only been 80.4 mpg. Filled up with 10.2 gallons.

Unfortunately I'm only at ~79 for this tank and tomorrow there are huge winds predicted plus rain. That's going to knock down my tank. Dang!
