This is the smallest production car ever built - the Peel P50 (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/andy.carter/). (click video for 10-min Top Gear episode)
It could go 35mph, weighed about 132lbs, powered by a 49cc engine.
In other words, it makes a Smart car look enormous - Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peel_P50)
See Jermey Clarkston's video (http://www.glumbert.com/media/tinycar) driving it to work.
SSixty 11-02-2007, 12:38 PM I caught this video the other day and I loved it. Driving it in the office like he did, lol. I suppose the only downside was how much smoke was coming from the tailpipe (2 cycle). Big enough for a person and a bag, Hah!
Right Lane Cruiser 11-02-2007, 12:52 PM Holy WOW!! I should never have watched this in the office. :o
I nearly fell out of my chair and had trouble breathing for about 5 minutes afterwards!!
Chuck 11-02-2007, 01:00 PM You have to see Jermey driving between the cubicles at the BBC offices. :D
BailOut 11-02-2007, 01:01 PM That's a great segment. :)
johnf514 11-02-2007, 02:11 PM Saw this on Top Gear - what a great little runabout! :D
Harold 11-02-2007, 02:11 PM Look at the size of that steering wheel!!! H
laurieaw 11-02-2007, 02:18 PM whew, it seemed like it tipped onto two wheels when he cornered too quickly!
Right Lane Cruiser 11-02-2007, 03:04 PM whew, it seemed like it tipped onto two wheels when he cornered too quickly!
It did!!! My coworkers were rolling in the aisle when they saw that! :p
desdemona 11-03-2007, 12:01 AM This was a truly LOL (I mean literally not figuratively laugh out loud)! Hilarious!

hobbit 11-05-2007, 06:05 AM I totally couldn't make that link work. Got a path to the actual
video file?

Fenrir 11-05-2007, 06:49 AM This link (http://cache.googlevideo.com/get_video?video_id=HYtro7PnBA8&origin=chi-v243.chi.youtube.com) might work for you. You'll probably need to add '.flv' to the resulting file name.
hobbit 11-05-2007, 11:04 AM Yes, that worked! That, in fact, I've finally discovered is
the standard transform [minus the "origin=" goop] from a youtube
link to where the file actually resides, via a couple of
redirects. And in the meantime I've found that "VLC" can play
those silly .FLV files, although the audio is a little sketchy
sometimes.

tnx
