It's been on Car Talk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Car_Talk) - now CNN has interviewed the authors of a country western song lampooning petite women that drive huge SUVs. A number of females noticed a tendacy of smaller women driving larger vehicles.

An aside: I was in high school in the mid 70s. There was this guy that barely made it to 5'0" even with hormone thearpy. He drove in a Lincoln Continental Mark IV - the biggest boat car of the day. I don't think it made him look bigger. TV stations were playing original Star Trek episodes like The Corbomite Manuver (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Corbomite_Maneuver) (a fearsome-looking alien turns out to be a little child with smoke and mirrors)
That would be an excellent name for a jumbo SUV - the Corbomite. :p
