Hi,

This is for work actually. We are working on some high temperature resistive films that can be used for resistance heaters. They are light, flexible, easily work -200C to +240C and are chemically resistant.

One application I was thinking of was for alternatives to engine block heating. Since this film could be immersed in oil, coolant etc., it may be (1) more efficient in heating the process fluids vs external heaters and (2) may be able to be supplied power from external plug or internal battery/electrical power or even solar.

Let me know your thoughts - PM me if you wish.

Thanks

Are there any material & performance specification sheets available for evaluation?

I gather that "we're" trying to find a set of potential application niches and you regard Engine Block Heating to be one of them ? If so, I would agree.

Have you tried or looked into private venture just for the sake of researching, producing, packaging and distributing a product based on these films. I think it has potential and I would not mind studying any details you can provide. If you need me to sign an NDA please feel free to push it my way.

Cheers;

MSantos

I'm not sure that engine block heaters would be the most interesting application. Anybody who works with water outdoors in the winter would have an application. In particular I frequently work with drillers who have equipment icing problems (profanity and propane are the typical solutions) . I could also imagine an application to prevent diesel cold temperature gelling in fuel lines/filters.
