2008 Prius at the Texas State Fair - Sept 30, 2007

You can tell this is a 2008 Prius - anyone know what gives this away?

I know that it is a 2008 because..... you wouldn't have made a thread about it being a 2008 if it were a 2007!

(I'm stumped, but I dont claim to be well versed on prii (what's the plural of prius?))

The headlights are different (different shape and format, with the fried egg on top instead of on the side now).

There is a subtle change as noted in an article within the past month.

If you Google images for a frontal picture of earlier Prius II's - it might jump out at you.

Hint: it looks more like a Yaris in this respect (this hint will probably go completely over most of your heads)

Thought an article said the Prius II did not have the Toyota hood ornament until the 2008 model...I've looked at earlier Prius II's and they also have the ornament. :o

I won't answer since we have one. But it is very visible in the pic.

Does it have a center-mounted console/cluster like the Yaris? I see the bump in the middle there, but I don't know if it's just the FCD.

So Delta, are you saying there is not a difference now? I can't pick anything up, but now I'm confused b/c someone said it's obvious....

I compared the picture of my '07, and it is there, but it is not something you would notice unless you specifically looked for it. Very subtle.

Those parking lights are gonna require some shorter grill blocks ;)

I don't see an antenna, and the headrests look slightly different (smaller cutout on the bottom). That's all I can come up with.

I saw one of the new Blue Prius down at the local dealer. I like it much more than the Seaside Pearl that's been made for the last 3 years. The new blue looks a lot like Monte Carlo Blue of the 2001-2006 Insight.

Does the 08 have a row of lcd looking prisms in the lens between the upper and lower light that the other years don't have? I didn't notice it on the 05 we traded.

Gas prices are definitly different :(

The only other difference we can notice is that the attena isnt there.

Wow! Good catch on the antennae. Someone must have stole it. The 08's have the same antennae as the other years. I just took ours off and put a shark's fin on a couple of weeks ago. I put the beefier Prius antennae on the Insight.
