I'm still doing "Candid Camera" on the freeways.

This time, it's something totally different! :D

I call this picture "drafting" - I think you can catch on the humor in that title.

It was Monday evening, highway speed about 60mph (the posted limit).

I have a number of comments, but you go first.....

Oh man! That picture is great. I can see it on the wall like those motivational posters at work.

I can't think of any great comments at the moment though.

I wholeheartedly agree that the red Insight was in the wrong lane! Yes, the posted limit was 60mph, but typically people are going 70-75mph. There were three lanes and I was in the middle lane to take the picture. Normally, I'd be in the righmost lane except to pass.

Yes, Tom this is role reversal - the Insight is usually tailgating the big rig. It was too funny to pass on.

Just to let everybody know I'll even pick on Insights. :D

Chuck;

There you have it. Who would have ever dreamed that a Semi would Draft a Honda Insight to save Fuel? ;)

if the insight got snuggled up close enough it would definitely start to surf the "bow wave"... until an inelastic collision occurs at some point :)

The Insight does not have it's brake lights on. Most of the drivers have their lights on. Forgot that Monday evening it was threatening rain.

If you look at the overpass, you will notice the access road to the right of the freeway. Unfortunately, the speed on the access road is hardly any different from the freeway. :( It's also the place an officer pulled me over for abruptly changing lanes. Reason I did that, was the drivers around me we driving too agressive for me to get on that lane any other way and that lane leads to the ramp to the freeway....

Today, someone that is sensitive about SUV poseurs remarks started a thread at GH about a reckless and wrecked Prius. Might have deflected some flames with the drafting picture. Maybe it was the same Prius I encountered in Fort Collins Colorado doing 90mph. :D
