They are in Tulsa. And cant be sold until the ECU is reflashed for a knock sensor update.

The cars look great except for the grill. The grill is nasty. The car is very upscale compared to the 7th gen Accord. Its darn well bigger inside and out. Its very RL'ish looking.

None the less. Its alot nicer looking than the Camry. :)

What the heck does "RL'ish" mean? And I think that it being a bigger car than previously is a tremendous step backwards.

Reminds one of the Acura RL.

The grill is straight off of a Ridgeline. I saw one parked in the lot the other morning and it hit me...carbon copy.

How do they drive, psyshack? Did they get into specifics for the ECU reflash? Agreed on the grille - maybe something aftermarket would work? Not that most buyers will care.

I didn't drive one. There were plenty of folks with cash in hand willing to pay MSRP or above for the right to be a test mule.

All I was told ,, was it concerned the knock sensor.

The grill is fugly to say the least. I don't know if it is so much the grill. Maybe its the "H" stuck off in it that makes it look bad.

Hi All:

___Just a minor addition … I finally had a look over the 08’s myself the other day while performing my monthly count of Civic’s (10), HCH-II’s (1) and Fit’s (2) on the local Honda dealership lot. The LX uses a 16” Dunlop Sport something that has a max sidewall of 51 #’s. That is a plus. The EX and higher use a 17” Michelin Pilot. I do not know much about those yet? The new Accord’s include active head restraints so that is also a plus. I will have to find out more about that. Are they the type that moves forward upon collision by a pulley system or by seat deformation upon rear impact?

___Good Luck

I understand this is going to be the signature grill across the entire Honda line.

I hope not. I'm not fond of that grill at all. I wonder if the diesel version that comes out in the next few years will sport this same model or get an early upgrade.

Finally saw one... other than the grille, I really liked it. Far better looking than in the pictures. Lots of legroom for a 6'6er and headroom even with the sunroof in front but just not quite in the back although the legroom is good back there. Have a 6th gen Accord and hate the legroom - better half drives it.

The doors are crazy deep on it... I seldom notice really deep doors these days but they are something thick. The thing could be narrower...

I'll save my test drive for the diesel model. ;-)

I posted this on a Accord site.

It could get bloody.

I drove a I4, AT Sedan. and a V6, 6MT Coupe,,, Both loaded to the gills.

Not impressed at all. I wanted to be impressed. I wanted to feel the need to purchase a V6, 6MT Coupe something awful.

I think Hondas about to get a hard lesson in design and marketing. The new Accords are already stacking up here. With lots of 7th gens hanging around....

Heres the post:

Well brother....

It hit me tonight. The new Accord is a real bad hack of a Chrysler 300. They blew the grill and didnt get the high line or the roof line right. They got the V6 power right. But its front wheel drive. WTH.

So now Im waiting on the gangs to get a hold of this car. I bet we see this car on 24's, 2' off the ground. I just wonder if its going to be a Crip, Blood or MS13 homie that does the mod here. I know Im going to see it. And Im going to laugh so hard when I see it. I can only hope I have the brains to get a camera on the job....

I know Im going to see a full gangster 08 Accord....

Hi All:

___Something I received in the mail today is telling me the new Accord is really having trouble right out of the gate.
Honda of Joliet

Dear Wayne:

Greetings from all of us …

The Arrival of the all new 2008 Honda Accord has the auto industry a buzz with the new styling, features and benefits it provides.

With that said, we are offering to our previous customers introductory sale pricing on the 2008 Honda Accord which, by the way, we cannot even advertise. Purchase a new 2008 Honda Accord from our inventory by Dec. 8, 2007 and your price will be Factory Invoice. That’s right, Invoice!!. This offer is transferable to your family members as well.___If one of the local Honda dealerships is trying to sell Accord’s for invoice after only a few months on the market, Honda will be scrambling to sell this one with 4 – 6 years before the next full redesign. At least they have the diesel coming to help?

___Good Luck

Give it time... once people realize it's a big car that's rated 35 mpg even with the V6 (according to Transport Canada), they should sell plenty. I wish our gen 6 had the leg space up front.

Hi 2TonJellybean:

___I looked up the Canadian FE specs for the 08 Accord and the V6 is worth 21/35 mpg on the Canadian tests vs. 19/29 here in the US. Even the HCH-II rates 50/55 on the Canadian vs. 40/45 here?

___Going way OT now … The Transport Canada site has some very interesting information on importing US vehicles into Canada. It lists some tidbits about Electronic Immobilization after Sept. of 2007 but on a vehicle like the HCH-II, a Canadian could save upwards of $4K just by purchasing across the border. Completely flipped from 5 years ago when it was the other way around. Back then, if you brought a Canadian vehicle into the US, it had to have the speed replaced with an English one and you lost the vehicle warranty unless originally purchased in Canada and you became a citizen of the US after purchase.

___The reason I bring this up is it is nice to see the shoe on the other foot just as my wife and I saw Canadian’s bringing over groceries from the US while staying at the Fall’s View Hilton in Niagara Falls Canada last summer.

___Good Luck

___Wayne
