Hi TexasHCHman:

___Another great find wrt Toyota’s upcoming Prius-III redesign. I believe this article re-affirms Toyota’s wrong turn wrt using PanasonicEV’s Li-Cobalt. I did not think of their timid ness in terms of trying to run with an older Li-Ion tech as many others here rightfully did (Toyota should have known better) but instead thought of them not being able to procure a safer chemistry either all-in or by IP sharing arrangements. Apparently they (Toyota) really screwed up?

___All I can add is that GM had better take advantage of this misstep as it gives them an inside track to the next gen of strong hybrids via A123Systems without fear of being beaten to the punch as they have been the past 20 + years. Their quality is up, their vehicle lineup is competitive in terms of esthetics and performance and all they need now is a killer app. PHEV’s are their killer app if they choose to follow the proper path.

___Good Luck

I'm still hoping Honda sneaks something in during all this commotion.
