I have the SG on the top of my dash (to the right of the instrument panel). It is a nice place for it as it gives me an almost heads up display. The cord, otoh, is driving me nuts. I take my SG inside with me for work, as I discussed in a previous post. Each time I put the thing back on i have to mess with the darn cord.

I thought I could duct tape it to the dash but alas duct tape doesn't stick. Any good ideas here? The velcro works well on the dash so something with that maybe??

If you can get one half of sticky Velcro tape to stick to the dashboard, wrap a section of the other half of the Velcro around the cord and stick it (adhesive side) to itself.

Do you mean you are tired of the cord not staying in place (falling down into the console, etc) while the SG is removed? And sick of having to retrieve it? Or did I interpret this wrong?

I have to do a little work trying to get the cord in place, everytime I put the SG back in the car I have refit the cord so that it fits in the car and doesn't drag. I am afraid of it getting tangled or around my foot. HTH, sorry.

I like WriConsult's idea - simple, efficient. If you want another idea these are small clips (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062666&cp=2032058.2032237.2032317&parentPage=family) so you could route the cable.
you could paint to match - white would stand out.

edit: didnt want to come off as derogatory or offensive
KISS - or (Keep It Simple, Stupid) is a commonly used phrase in computer programming and theory.

Don't know if the layout of your car will allow something like this, but when I was using mine in the Prius I bundled the excess cable up with a Velcro tie like this (http://cableorganizer.com/wire-wrap/), then dropped the loop over the windshield wiper control stalk.

Your link didn't get me anywhere.
I wouldn't say it was dead but it was one of the website site grabbers I think, for lack of a better term.

I could look at cable organizers though for something that would work.

I just looped mine around the steering column twice. It leaves me just enough slack to reach the SG up on the dash, and no extra.

The one time I don't test a link ....

It's fixed. Sorry! :o
