GM's Lutz says some recent concept cars were canceled because their FE was poor.

They must see a changing trend in the market

That's one way to put it. Another would be to say that they realized the market for a super luxury sedan is too small, and nobody would take a roadster from Buick seriously. I think everything Bob Lutz says is written by a spin doctor.

Well, thanks to the miracle of Google you can! They have pictures of both that and the Velite. The Sixteen looks sort of like a stretched Volt to me. I guess they needed the length to fit all those cylinders in.

Ive seen them. To me it has a art deco look. But yes I can see the volt in it. I still have a soft spot for HUGE AMERICA IRON! I thought it to be one slick car. No way in hell I could buy one new. But 80k miles and the price be right. Heck yeah. I would think about buying one to cruise in. Im just a sucker for big American Coupes or Sedans. I know it isnt part of this sights mission statement. But a huge American night sled,,, I Like!!!! Not a daily grind ride, Heck no. But a laided low in black,,, slamed with rubber to meet. And a awsome big gas burner. Sorry,,, but I like them.

Im not a GM fan. But I did like the Impala RWD SS. But every one I looked at,,, at a dealer was phucked up from the factory. From bad glass sets to crocked rear ends. A buddy of mine bought a Impala SS and he is just now figuring out the rear end is jacked in it.

So I held out for Marader... In black,,, slamed with a super charger. Then it only came in small block.... Well poooo on that.

My dreams of a real American sled died. If I wanted real American Iron,,, Big Block. More room than a nuk. sub and the grunt to rip grooves in asphalt. I was going to have to build my own again. Then I lost interest.

So Im disappointed.

Agreed on the art deco look, which the Volt isn't.

I'm not immune either. A few years ago three of us had to take a road trip for work and due to the out-ot-the-way destination the fastest cheapest way to go was to just drive. Given the feistiness of the other two, it seem prudent to rent a larger vehicle for the 7-hour drive. I requested a Crown Vic but they gave me a Lincoln Town Car, which I guess is a sort of inflated Crown Vic.

Anyhow, I drove the thing and aside from being huge it wasn't bad. After 3 days I actually started to bond with it. And thought it might be cool to own one in dark gray with blacked out chrome, black alloy rims, tinted windows, lowered, with a big exhaust and meaty tires.

P.S. Forgot to mention that the mission went very well, plus we all survived without discernable physical or emotional scarring. Initial squawks from the rear seat passenger that the rear seat lacked the inflatable lumbar supports found in the front seats (an inexplicable oversight by Ford!) were soothed by pointing out that she was very fit and hence did not need lumbar support (unlike us slobs in the front seats), and that she had the whole sweeping expanse of the rear seat to herself.
