This article echos what I heard 25 years ago in a business class - the Japanese test and test a new product before introducing it. Detroit needs to learn to settle on a product design, then test it thoughly. That way, their image of quality will improve.
Recently, I've heard Detroit's improvements in QA has been overlooked. This leaves the reader to either think Detroit has not gone far enough or the article is off-base.
