A British car company has unveiled ambitious plans to create a new high performance sportscar powered by electric motors.

The Lightning Car Company GT is powered by four, hub mounted electric motors claimed to produce at least 700bhp in total. Each motor has a maximum torque rating at the wheel of 553lb ft, available virtually from zero rpm.

It definitely looks a lot like a Jaguar XKE or E-type.
Probably faster and more reliable than those were though.
The rear window tunnel design is very appealing from the outside, however I think it will limit visibiliy for the driver.

I see it will also use a 35kWh, Altairnano pack. 10minute recharge..

I cant see anything in this battery which is expensive so when they reach high volumes the costs should come down.
