The new FE ratings are now available at fueleconomy.gov, and they have changed their ratings for 1985-2007 model years as well. The ratings for my 2006 HCH are now 40 city, 45 highway, and 42 combined. The only time I haven't beaten those numbers was the very first tank when I drove it off the lot.

Any thoughts? Does this seem to be an extremely understated mileage estimate?

You just have to drive faster and use the brakes more! Like most of the rest of the traffic on the road.

Hi Wburke:

___The 06 was probably tested internally by Honda as well as the Government labs but you won’t see the actuals until the 08’s hit the lot.

___These new numbers are great for CAFÉ’ standards (the DOT will not be using them for true compliance by the way ) but are so low that “Even a Caveman can do it”! Meaning match the EPA cycles which is really what they probably should have been in the first place?

___Good Luck

The new EPA numbers are justifaction for the mass's. Its never there fault a car or truck cant get EPA. Just goes to show,,, just how bad American drivers really are.

Tiger was considering doing a Post on this Thread. However I think at this time that would not be a Wise-Decision. So I pass.

It should be easier to go above those estimates. My son hit 49.6 last week on the first tank. Today he said he got terrible mileage. It was down to 44 on his 100 mile trip!! I'm glad to see him calling 44 mpg terrible.

I concur... even at high speeds, these numbers will be easy to beat.

I do and I still beat 50 mpg. :D
