I'm going to try to go. It's only a one day event, but Bob
Gillespie acknowledges that if people come from far away
they'll need to overnight somewhere. Nearest motels aren't
that close, and I haven't yet asked him about some nearby
relatively safe place to just pull in and park and do the
motel prius slumber party thing.

I've arranged a tent-space at the fairly nearby Clute memorial
park and campgrounds, which according to Rob is a mile or less
from the IMRRC site where most things happen. Things do
evidently pack up pretty solid in the area because of various
race event weekends, and the GGP is sort of piggybacking off
another major one that probably involves a lot more fuel
consumption, but whatever, it's all fun. So I'll head out
Friday daytime and get there in plenty of time to poke
around the area, and be ready bright-n-early for all the
events on Saturday. I put in for a second night since after
all that I'll probably not want to spend another 5 or 6 hours
driving home.
