"It’s got plenty of leg room, it rides good; it’s quiet. I’ve not seen too many performance problems. So far, it suits me fine." (http://www.dothaneagle.com/gulfcoasteast/dea/local_news.apx.-content-articles-DEA-2007-06-04-0002.html)

Dothan's water operations superintendent does most of his official driving in a 2007 Toyota Prius, the first hybrid auto purchased by the City of Dothan about a month ago.
Randy Morris stands 6 feet, 3 inches.
When he stands outside of his city-assigned Toyota Prius, you can’t help but wonder if he’ll actually fit behind wheel without sitting in the back seat. Fit he does, and comfortably at that.
"I’m the brunt of a few jokes," said Morris, the City of Dothan’s Water Operations Superintendent.
Snicker all you want at the Prius’ odd oval shape. The hybrid car averages 43 miles per gallon around town and can get more than 50 miles per gallon on the highway.
Just like residents, Dothan’s government feels a financial impact from high gas prices. Hybrid vehicles may not work for every city department, such as police or fire, but they could be one way the city tries to address rising fuel costs.
The City of Dothan bought its first Toyota Prius in March, paying $22,448. Originally assigned to another employee, Morris has been driving the Prius about six weeks.
