Hi Three60guy:

___With the credits, you do not know how close I am to getting rid of the MDX in a trade for a Prius II or Escape HEV right now. I am just worried that the wife will take the Prius II down to < 40 and the Escape to < 25 mpg’s! I have to do something but we aren’t there just yet :(

Wayne;
I think the Prius II and to really be (Honest) I wonder about the Prius that will be coming out that has the "Ability" to travel Longer Distances on the (Battery-Power).
That is the one to go for I think. :)

Hi Terry:

___Given the supposed 9 mile range of the PHEV based Prius III, it certainly gives me something to think about … 9 miles would get my wife back and forth to work where I hope we will soon live? Given the way an EV works, even she couldn’t destroy its capabilities ;)

So Wayne, what's the wife currently getting in the MDX? I would imagine that whatever she gets in either of the hybrids you mentioned will still be a lot better than she is getting in the MDX. The MDX probably has pretty good resale too, right? This might be a good time to make the switch.

Hi Brandon:

___My wife does not reset the trip A/B meters when she fills up but it is sitting ~ ¾ of a tank and the FCD shows a paltry 16.6 mpg’s :( It might be worth $25 - $26.5K PP which is decent resale but what to get afterwards? The wife’s future commute will possibly be a 15 mile nightmare or a 3 mile nothing with San Francisco Bay area temps year round. The 15 miler would be a Prius II’s best bet. The latter? Maybe a small PHEV conversion to either an Escape HEV or the Prius II? She won’t drive the HCH-II as she thinks it’s a bit too small but likes the looks of the Prius II. I think the Prius III would be the best of both worlds but that may not arrive until maybe late 08? I almost hate telling her about the TCH as I know what would be in our drive a month after its release. It just doesn’t allow the FE that I think we will need over the next 3 + years given her driving habits is all :(

___Good Luck
