CHEVROLET TAHOE HYBRID

Hybrid design is dual-mode, using two planetary gear sets, two electric motors, and a V-8 engine. System codeveloped with DaimlerChrysler and BMW. Offers 25 percent boost in combined city/highway gas mileage over a regular Tahoe. Arrives next year.


GM will be first to market with a full-size SUV hybrid, which was GM's biggest news at Detroit__the Camaro is fluff by comparison.

I saw the 2-mode hybrid system at the chicago auto show. It looked impressive to me. It will be interesting to see how they apply it.

It will not be long in coming. GM is getting it together. Or at least making some strides Forward.
