The Pup is all wet!

This is right up Brandon’s (FSUspectra) alley as the jet stream is currently located far north of its normal path and well into Canada currently.

What does the Jet Stream up north have in store for us “southerners”? We are all currently basking in unseasonably warm temperatures is what. It is beautiful now but I have the distinct feeling we will be paying a very high price for this type of early spring weather phenomena later on this summer.

Here in Chicago it was in the low 70’s with near record or record highs expected on Wednesday and Thursday pushing well into the mid to upper 70s!

Yesterday, a temperature record that has stood for over 110 years was broken when Boston reached a record high 71 degrees.

Other high temperature records tied or broken
New York City - 71 degrees in Central Park, tying a record dating back to 1890.
Minneapolis/St. Paul reached 66 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, topping their previous record highs that have stood for 134 and 100 years respectively.
St Louis, tied its record at 84 degrees yesterday.
Albany, NY.
Bridgeport, CT.
Buffalo, NY.
Burlington, VT.
Newark, NJ.
So what did I do? I went for a walk and took the pup along so she could take her very first swim in the lake :)

I worked till 2:30pm then drove home at 105.7 mpg for 11.5 miles.:D Our record here was 76F in 1995; we only got to 64F today. Oh, I got 112.8 on the way to work this morning.:flag:

Yup, rode my mountain bike to work today. Hoping to do so the rest of the week, weather and motivation permitting.

We blew away our previous record of 44F, it was 52F today. Rode 10km on my bicycle, about time I started to get some exercise again. Contemplating pulling my motorcycle out of the garage this weekend :D

It was warm here yesterday too. When I got home from part-time work, I washed my Escape! :)
My wife had already washed her Corolla.

Today, I aired up the bikes and we did our first few miles of the season..
We got new Electra Townie bikes and really like them a lot!

Super nice day in Greater Bean Town.. :)

It "only" peaked at around 61F here, about 20F above the average and 1F above the previous record.

The only snow left is dirty snow in the shade.

It was 75F in the building at work. It's not time to turn off the heating yet.

EDIT:
Oh, what did we do? I went out to dinner with my wife. We walked downtown 0.8 miles via the post office (to mail a movie), ate and walked the direct route 0.6 miles back. It was probably around 50F when we left and 45F when we walked back. That's more than warm enough for us to walk.

It rained all day here, and 90% chance of rain tomorrow. Highs in the mid 50s (cool for us). I stayed in the car and read a book out of the rain while my wife was in class.

Walked twice, and did a grocery store run on the way back from work. Have to get those 12k steps in a day, rain or shine.

Drill baby drill.

Soil sampling around an active underground storage tank system in eastern Iowa. We were shocked to find conduits that weren't on the "As Builts".

Sort of like :Banane45: and then a bunch of bad language.

It was about 60F in the morning and 75F in the afternoon in the md suburbs of Washington DC.
Before I drove home I removed the grill blocking on my Prius. Despite the heavy traffic, my MPG jump up to the upper 60s today. The daffodils are in full bloom here. I went to work in short sleeves today!

Still in St. Pete, so I helped father in-law around the house. Pulled up a row of pavers to run electric and cable to one of his utility sheds he does work in, mowed the lawn, drove my son around on his electric golf cart :D, moved the fencing for his chicken corral, and went to a Moody Blues concert! A productive day for sure. :)

Same op stuff. It was a normal march day in Texas. We occasionally hit triple digits in march but not this week thankfully. Looks like more rain soon and I'll take it! Bad for mileage but good for the wildlife.

Went to the Daytona International Speedway to check out the new bikes, and followed that by a beautiful ride along the St John's river, and home via St Augustine.

Yesterday, I saw in the hallway my desk is located in at work with a :( on my face. I came home, gassed up the Harley, and then sat around since it was dark out. I debated planting some herb seeds, but I'm nervous for when the temperature drops back down to the 40s/50s high. Today, I'm off because I got the warm weather itch and will be riding to the Jersey shore on the Harley for some nice fried seafood!

That reminds me, gotta call to schedule the seat modification on the Harley this morning!

It was only a touch warmer than normal here. I bought materials for venting my attic. Summer is coming soon, and when it does...

The part that Wayne did not mention about that cute puppy picture is the wet dog smell :)

Here in the Florida heat you cant keep any kind of lab out of the pool, shepperds and greyhounds are a different story.

I guess I was the only one that worked a 12 hr. midnight shift.:( I slept most of the day then drove 70 miles to take our daughter to an appointment. On a plus side, the warm temps allowed a little over 70 mpg (fcd) for the trip at highway speeds.

It was down-pouring rain and snow here at around 45 degrees. HahaNo doubt. While the East (a term that around here refers to anyplace east of the Rockies) swelters, we shiver. We did get teased with a couple of 60 degree days last week (warmest since last Oct) but it was only a tease.

Yesterday we woke up to our third dusting of snow in 3 weeks. Parts of the Oregon coast (beach snow is very rare) got 8 inches. And (as is normally true in March) the mountains keep piling it up -- our snowpack normally continues to build until around early April, and this year promises to be no exception.

We actually had a pretty mild winter, and as everyone here knows, if we have a mild winter, we can plan on getting walloped in March and April. And for the third year in a row that is exactly what is happening. We're getting pounded with storm after storm. 1.8" of precip yesterday at my house.

It was 42F this morning when I caught the train to London for a training course, walked 2.5 miles, was inside all day, it got to 56 apparently and am now on train going back home. It's dark here and 48F now

Had a great drive home from school.

Got the wife's bike started and took it for a quick check ride. Called my son and told him to bring my bike back soon.

Rode the same ten-mile route today and knocked 15 seconds off the time. I'm slowly getting into shape.
