Below is a great article summarizing some of the PHEV testing and modeling results, from the 2007 SAW World Congress.

I started to abstract some of the key points but there were so many I’d be practically pasting the whole article. The emissions test results of the plug-ins and the different energy management strategies were I thought particularly interesting.

Hi Tarabell:

___Thank you for the find … I have to wonder if Mike was at the SAE conference because if he wasn’t, he sure has an inside line with all the quotes.

___Then there is the issue of the Prius II’s minimal EV capabilities skewing the Prius II-PHEV Argonne results that were posted? Even still, HyMotions and EnergyCS’ 200 and 221 mpg result respectively vs. 66 on the UDDS city is still darn impressive ;) With the next gen HSD-II or E-Flex/Hy-Drive minus the Hy, or any FCV making for a proper PHEV, the results would show a stupid level of FE really quick :D

___Good Luck

___Wayne
