One 30-year survey suggests the atmosphere over Antartica has warmed up 2.7 F (or 1.5 C) - three times the rate of the rest of the planet. While the temperatures there are well below freezing, it has at least ten times the ice and snow of Greenland.

This does not surprise me at all. I can't Honestly believe that anyone could be surprised by this. It should be obvious.

Hi Chuck:

___While at the local grocery store earlier today, one of the larger circulation mags had a headline on the cover about global warming and how it is accelerating. I wonder how the Bush administration is going to take the news and overwhelming evidence that this “IS” occurring. The “Why” may still be in question but the acceleration over the last 50 years sure does coincide with our massive increases in Carbon emissions …

___Good Luck

It was the cover story for Time.

Some argue that warming and cooling naturally comes in cycles - can't disagree with them. While some of this may very well be natural, the pace leads many to believe the burning of fossil fuels is factoring in.

The earth is incredibly resilient. Over fifteen years ago, the Biosphere II (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biosphere_2) experiment lasted only two years in Arizona. Maintaining an artificial environment is very difficult, which should cause us to respect our ecosystem.
