View Full Version : 2001 Insight MT in Dallas, TX
diamondlarry 01-06-2012, 07:28 AM Chuck, need a parts car?;) I just saw this on Ebay. Definitely a project car but for the price it's going for so far, all of the items needing repair could be done for maybe $3K or so if the work was done yourself. In fact, if my job situation turns out favorable later today, I may be watching this like a hawk.

Right Lane Cruiser 01-06-2012, 10:45 AM Nice color... ;)
FSUspectra 01-06-2012, 11:04 AM Hell, I'm eying it myself. :D It's on my watch list.
Chuck 01-06-2012, 11:20 AM Yes, it looks good, but concerned about the 1st/2nd gear on the 5-speed.
PaleMelanesian 01-06-2012, 11:23 AM The price is certainly right. I'd be willing to learn about transmission and battery repairs.
Chuck 01-06-2012, 11:28 AM ^ Andrew, if you are serious go for it!!!!
I'd drive it back with the calpod switch to prevent the pack from draining to a certain recal, has ScanGage plugged to clear the P1447/P1449, but before the CEL just pulling it on the side on the recal, and pulling the fuse on the lower bank in position #5 from the door....I can elaborate if needed.
PaleMelanesian 01-06-2012, 11:30 AM I've eyed other Insights before, but reality is that I need more seats. Any time I can use the Civic for partial-family drives, it saves miles in the Odyssey.
diamondlarry 01-06-2012, 11:34 AM It's on my watch list too.;) I would take some tools along and take the cover off the IMA area and disconnect the BCM so the 12V would stay charged. I think he mentions that the 12V is going flat. The transmission shouldn't be much of an issue to get fixed. There are a bunch of people over at IC familliar with it. Also, if you are willing to double-clutch, you could probably drive it as is for quite awhile.

Chuck 01-13-2012, 11:48 PM Bidding has ended and think it peaked at $2,500....$2000 to put in a Better Battery, and $1000 for everything else....an MPG monster at $6,000 or less. I hope the winner takes good care of it.

Look out in a month or so for a $6,500 recently-refurbished 2000 Insight MT. :D
