Hello to all D$W/MiHG members and friends,
Since this will be the last Drive$martWisconsin/MiHG Meet of 2011, we wanted to do something a little different. We’ve worked with Steve Butcher from Andrew Toyota to offer us a unique experience, so next Saturday December 17th we’ll have our Meet at Andrew at 1620 West Silver Spring Drive in Milwaukee. We’ve only had one Meet off site (the Culvers in Hales Corners for Meet #3) so we’ll have to be flexible with our traditional format. Andrew will supply beverages and some baked goods but since we always eat well at our Meets, I would encourage you to bring some snacks since we will NOT be having our spectacular pot luck lunch. Steve Butcher and Andrew Toyota has been very supportive of our D$W/MiHG activities including supplying our Milwaukee Auto Show vehicles for the past five years so we are very happy to connect with Andrew with our Meet. More info and directions can be found at:
http://www.andrewtoyota.com/
We will be able to check out the entire line of Toyota and Scion vehicles but three vehicles will be of particular interest to our D$W/MiHG members; the 3rd generation 2012 Prius, the all new 2012 Prius V and the redesigned 2012 Camry Hybrid. In addition to test drives, Steve will be doing a presentation on the Toyota line and Toyota Hybrid Master Mechanic Jim Hahn will be answering any questions on hybrids as well. We will not be able to do a “lift” view of these vehicles because Saturday is a workday in the service department and viewing is not permitted for liability reasons. This will be a great opportunity to see these great new Toyota vehicles in the atmosphere of a D$W/MiHG Meet. Wayne Gerdes has done excellent reviews of each of these vehicles in the links below (Camry Hybrid, Prius V and Prius 3rd Gen):

For our first timers, here’s the way things generally work at a meet. This Saturday we’ll begin to gather in the Andrew Toyota parking lot about 9:00 for those that want to show off their vehicles. At 9:30 we’ll begin to gather inside the Andrew showroom and by 10:00 we should be set to begin our introduction round robin and/or a “Fuel for Thought” quiz. We’ll have a short session with Steve Butcher and Jim Hahn and then take a short break for snacks and item sales. We’ll then have a wrap up session and offer some updates, reviews, news, short subjects and door prizes and then break for test drives about 11:30 pm. There will be no Drive $mart sessions at this Meet. Beverages will be supplied but we encourage all attending to bring some baked goods or snacks to share. We will not have any kitchen facilities available at this Meet. Be prepared to be gracious, with the understanding that the agenda usually does not follow the timeline.
