Has anybody here ever applied techniques such as warp stealth while test driving a car? Or has anybody gotten a vehicle with an ifcd to show crazy numbers on a test drive of a vehicle? If so, what was the dealers reaction?

When you mentioned warp shield, I wonder if you were refering to warp stealth - a Prius thing.

Heh. I'd love to see a dealers reaction when someone brought the vehicle back with a 70mpg segment.

There are a bunch of techniques I would have no problem doing with a dealer in the seat next to me. And come to think about it. Often times when you are driving a sports car the dealer kind of nudges you to "open 'er up". So why not do the same with a fuel efficient vehicle.

Yes - it needs to be stressed that many of the tricks are very safe.

Hi Euph:

___While visiting a local Toyota dealership last August, I had the opportunity to test drive a TCH without NAVI and afterwards, took out a brand new loaded Prius II with < 20 miles on the clock. He wanted me to take the Prius II around the block and I said I need to take it around the town for a proper test drive. After 5.1 miles, we pulled back into the dealership lot. He didn’t know what to do other then to say, “Let us see what you got … Ahhh … Looks again … Ahhh … 94 mpg!” It was funny because his voice inflected and he hadn’t a clue as to what I was doing other then driving around town between the speed limits :D

We saw another dealer's reaction last spring when someone took
Gilles Labelle's TCH out around the country highways in NY
state and came back with 70+ on the FCD. Given the general
speed of those highways, I have no idea how it was done either,
but Gilles was just *glowing* from hanging out with the whole
bunch of folks there and seeing what they could do.
