Hi Tom:

___There are still some interviews that have not been posted but nothing I can think of could have caused this massive hit??? Canada Discovery Channel maybe? NPR was doing a story that hasn’t been published. A local paper as well???

___Whoops, it looks like someone picked up Teddi-Girl’s Prius record setting thread :)

___Good Luck

Hi Tom:

___See you in chat in a few possibly?

Hi Tom:

___I just had a look at the Who’s Online with 100 users per page and saw the articles are getting hammered. Those are some huge MB pages. I sure hope the server can take it.

Found another culprit.

Slashdot has the TeddyGirl article too (http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/04/07/0424220). One of the comments (+5) lists the wikipedia article that has a link farm to cleanmpg.

Hold on tight..

The site has been running like hot butter all day. We have not yet begun to log hits. ;)

Tom, great work on tweaking the site so it handles the load nicely. We definitely need to "spread the love".

Hi Tom:

___I saw on the web stats we punched out over 4.5 GB’s today and there are still over 6 hours to go. We going to be ok on monthly bandwidth allotment if it calms down a notch, correct?

___What a day and it looks like it is finally calming down. I hope all the visitors understood and are now placing into practice some of what they read and learned today?

___Thank you Tom, host and dedicated server :D

___Good Luck

LOL, during my drive today I saw a brand new Lincoln Mark LT, the Lincoln version of the F-150 on the road, with the permit in the back window and no plate. While I'm sure he can afford high priced gas if he's buying a Lincoln large pickup, still, it made an eyebrow quirk when I saw it.

The first time prices drop, SUV sales will go up. When prices to go up, at least a few organizations will tell us that it's now a buyers market, so go buy an SUV; the savings in price make up for the higher costs of gas. (  ) Happened last time, it'll happen again.

It seems speeding goes down when prices increases - increases when prices are down.

There used to be a lot of compact pickups - why does it seem like nobody is interested in bringing them back?

I think they have an image as girlie pickups.
As useful as they can be, and fuel efficient too if properly designed, I think what pickup buyers really want is power and macho factor. Once you remove that there's little appeal. Unfortunate.

A few years ago, Doonesbury did a thing on selling the Bradley Fighting Machine to the streets. :p

I wish Saturday Night Live and the rest of the media would just harp on this stupid obsession with hulking gas guzzlers just to appear macho.

Prius Chat had a thread about a few idiotic guys that put (trying to phase this as delicately as possible) a replica of private parts on the hitch. Not all that many years ago, they might have gotten a ticket - now we have people that lack the decency to be ashamed!!! This along with the driving I see sometimes makes me wonder if America is bent on going down the tubes with idiots trying to prove themselves or overindulging themselves....

I've seen that more than once around here. (Remember, we're in Virginia.) While part of me thought, "How immature and redneckish," I confess that I still chuckled. (Remember, I'm from Virginia.)
