In Incline Village on Lake Tahoe today I saw a brand-spankin'-new Ford Excursion with a factory lift kit, over-sized rims & tires, over-sized soup can exhaust... and a "Keep Tahoe Blue" bumper sticker.

Is it me, or does it seem like we have more people living in denial while contributing to the problem?

It's such a shame you didn't have a camera.

Is it me, or does it seem like we have more people living in denial while contributing to the problem?I was thinking that a good new bumper sticker would be something to the extent of "Are you a boiling frog?"

Truthfully though, I think each of us is hypocritical in our own ways. So we shouldn't get down on people like this driver.

The point is he was driving one of the larger SUVs and saying he wants his lake polution free.

We all have our personal inconsistencies, but I think the driver's blissfully unaware their car sends one message while their bumper sticker sends another. Nothing wrong with either message -- but it’s a little like wearing army fatigues to a peace rally. You have to admire their capacity for rationalization.
