I'm home alone and it's absolutely fantastic outside (56F with some nice, warm sunshine.) So naturally, this is the time to get out and shine up the Prius. :D I stopped by Toyota to pick up an oil filter for the impending change, and on the way back I ran it through the touchless car wash to get most of the grime off. Next I'm going to get the spots it missed (best I can do with an apartment parking lot) and break out the wax to keep this new paint looking its age.
Anybody else enjoying the fringe benefits of winter's departure?

Yup, same weather as you. Little Beast got a bath and a vac today. Waiting for rain to wash the winter sand from the pavement before doing a more thorough wash + a wax.

Oh yeah. I'm sitting here at my work site preparing to leave, and I'll be stopping by the car wash on the way home. I'll probably break out the Zaino for the semi-annual treatment in the next week or two.
Not to mention the 70+ MPG commutes.
Maybe you do this now, but if not, have you considered a quick detail spray for your apartment parking lot touch-ups? I don't have the parking lot limitation, but my standard wash routine now involves a self-service touchless car wash to get most of the dirt off, then a wipe down with the spray and a microfiber towel either in the lot or when I get home. The whole process is quick, easy, and effective.

Yeah, I do like that spray detailer. It does a good job at getting the dust and really fine particles. I just got done with the Mother's cleaner wax and you wouldn't believe the junk that it picked up from the paint.

The clay bar is part of the semi-annual Zaino routine.
It's interesting that I had never heard of auto detailing clay until I started hanging out on the Prius forums. A well kept secret it seemed ... to me anyway.
Hi Jim:

The per-application work would seem to be a drawback, but I think it's offset by the durability. My last treatment was in October, and the car looks just as good (and water beads up as well) now as it did then. In fact, I took some pics of the car today to upload to the gallery, and I had to admire the shine in the pics.
