Hello there. I stumbled upon this wonderful resource by accident, but I'm happy to join! I'm a big "greenie" and want to do whatever I can to help curb U.S. dependence on foreign oil :flag:, reduce global warming. I also love new technologies -- though I'm no engineer.

I supervise a Fuel Economy Guide for Edmunds.com (www.edmunds.com/fueleconomy), which is yet another resource for these kinds of information. I also write for a blog called The Driving Woman (http://blogs.edmunds.com/women) and cover "better gas mileage" as a category there. So I'm always trying to stay on top of news related to fuel economy, alternative fuels (everything from hybrids to hydrogen, clean diesels, etc.) and your site will be very helpful. In addition, I'm hoping to use this forum for potential story ideas, as I assign a lot of articles related to fuel economy and gas mileage.

Though, if the members have restrictions concerning all that, I'll respect that.

Welcome aboard! Edmunds.com has been a valuable resource to me for a while now. I love their comparison tool, reviews, and - of course - the Undercover Car Salesman (http://www.edmunds.com/advice/buying/articles/42962/article.html)! That fellow's adventures gave me a serious advantage the last time I went to buy a car.

I look forward to interacting with you, and although I'm kind of new around here you can feel free to pick my brain any time you like.

Welcome! I'm sure the site administration will take notice before long and give you their thoughts on articles and whatnot. We're a well-meaning bunch and dedicated to helping others improve their fuel economy no matter what they drive. You'll see a pretty good mix of hybrid and non hybrid cars, and even a few posts by people with trucks and SUVs. Some take it more seriously than others, which is also just fine.

All I ask, personally, is that you and your staff take a look around and chat with us for a while before passing judgement. The tendency of some is to sensationalize right off the bat and, while that can be a natural tendency, I don't think it would happen so much if those people were willing to take a little more time. Of course, I don't mean to pass judgement on you prematurely, either. ;)

Anyway, it's good to have you aboard!

All I ask is that if you use any ideas here for story ideas that you give some sort of attribution or recognition . It helps drive traffic here and helps us build the community.

You're right - I'm always ready to bend anyone's ear about hybrids, especially my favorite FEH :):):)
