Okay I have done three tanks of gas now and I am now confused. First I know I need a scangauge which will help, the first tank of gas was 43mpg this was with the old owners driving habits, second tank was 47mpg, this third tank I was fas and changed my route where I was able to maintain a constant speed and did not drive with my windows down, filled up this morning and got 47mpg.
why am I getting the same mileage as when i drove normal which did include A/C usage?

There are way too many variables to say, well I drove better so I should get better mileage. wind, temp, traffic...etc etc all make a noticible difference in fuel economy

What nighthawk said... without extra instrumentation, you are truly flying blind, and too many factors can contribute to your FE. Mine tanked when I lent my SG to a friend, and I thought I was doing everything the same. Don't be discouraged, this 47mpg wall too shall fall! ;)

I lost several MPGs when my SG was stolen. You can see the huge drop off in my log in mid-Aug, I think it was. I stopped logging for some reason, probably depressing. But with a new SG I am at my previous numbers.

I am just felling frustration but, I know I need a sg and guess i will start saving for it now.
