No idea what the story is on this oil but there is a thread running over at Bob is the oil guy forums on it. Still one of the best places for any info on engine oils and automotive lubricants.

Here is the oil analysis on virgin stock.

G-Oil analysis 5W30 (

It looks pretty good, now the question is how is it going hold up under use?

I guess the more people that use it the better feed back we'll get on it.

I just read the BitOG thread, and this gem leaped out at me:
all they did was add nanoized geodesic bearings to the oil to the regular 5W30

Nanoized geodesic bearings? Are you f'ing kidding me?? That's a big red flag to me; it sounds like an advertising term that was coined to sound like a technical term, but without having to carry actual meaning.

Even if the product is outstanding right now, that indicates to me that this company may be more advertising-oriented than technical, and as a technical-type person myself that worries me. I've seen far too many companies start out with good technical products whose successors are garbage due to "non-technical issues" (e.g. cost-cutting).

I sure hope I get to eat these words at some point, but at the present I am very suspicious indeed.

I was going by the virgin oil analysis not by the marketing hype. ;)

Well, if this helps anyone's willingness to test it (including mine), I found a mail-in rebate for purchases on 5-quart jugs at Walmart through 4/15/11 for 50% off ($13 off $26) for as many jugs as you buy. I'll be giving it a shot for sure.

It would appear that this is mostly Beef Tallow sourced.

Sounds like a good way to use some of the excess beef fat now that all the high profile burger chains have stopped using tallow for their fries.

They will have to reformulate if they run out of available fat, so I'd hardly call it sustainable, especially if the vegan thing catches on! :p

Well, G.E.T. upped the ante... you can now get a 5W30 5-quart jug from Walmart FREE after mail-in rebate...
