View Full Version : fuel additives
Rundall1 02-13-2011, 04:20 PM Has anyone had any luck with fuel additives? I know modern day fuel already is supposed to include conditioner and what not. Just wondering if anyone has played around with this idea yet and what gains if any were found.
rfruth 02-13-2011, 05:39 PM your pocketbook will be lighter so you should get more MPGs !
FSUspectra 02-13-2011, 09:51 PM If you are regularly buying name-brand gasoline (Shell, Chevron, Mobil, etc), their additives are pretty much already in the gasoline. If you are experiencing problems that could be fuel related (slight hesitations, decreased performance), a bottle of Techron every 20,000 miles or so may be warranted, but I've never seen the need for them myself, although I have used them in the past. Probably a placebo more than anything.
karen is BS Additive 02-26-2011, 12:03 AM I am using a product which rocks!!! I got an extra 80 km out of my last tank.
I drive a 96 Windstar...not the smoothest or newest ride but it gets me from A to B. The mileage is the pits. I sometimes get less than 300km in my 76 L tank.
Since I started using my product I am hitting around the 400km mark in 76 L. I always do the same kind of driving, I am the only person to drive my vehicle and the load in the van is always the same...just groceries...smile.
It took a few fills to see any improvement, in fact initially when i started using the product my mileage went DOWN! I contacted the company and they told me to hang in there...it was probably due to the detergent cleaning the built up carbon out of the engine. I hung in there and now I am so pleased.
In addition to better mileage, i noticed my van has more vroom vroom...aka pep.
I also found out that this company is up for an eco award - nominated by the Green Business League. Because the fuel is more completely burned you have fewer emissions.
I say it is a win win.

Hi Karen:
We are using techniques that rock and can double your Van's FE without a magic elixir. Any claim about lowering emissions and a more complete burn is total BS.
This is your last post about this subject so I would take heed.

Chuck 02-26-2011, 12:08 AM Making a commercial 1st post is a lose-lose for you.
Try talking about yourself, your ride like your are not promoting a product.
I'm going to recommend your screen name have the product name removed.

KKaren,
You are intelligent enough to join a forum - so you are definitely smart enough to understand no ads or spam.
Your feigned cluelessness on this is behaviorial - such people get escorted out quickly.
FSUspectra 02-26-2011, 12:25 AM *chuckle*
Chuck 02-26-2011, 12:31 AM You know what spammers, trollers and chronic speeders that give CleanMPG members grief have in common?
They know EXACTLY what they are doing, yet pretend they are too clueless and helpless to do anything about it.
They are behaviorial
That word is probably going into our dirty word filter as I just tossed the B-word at Karen again. :p
Update: Karen joined again under a different name - she really needs a good therapist.

Rundall1 02-26-2011, 11:32 PM Wow it was'nt my goal when I started this thread for people to get banned. I guess stupid questions get stupid answers.
