View Full Version : It's Spring (almost)! Sledge 03-14-2007, 11:16 AM My mileage which had been wallowing in the mid 40's thanks to the cold of winter is now rocketing upwards. Current tank at 52 and rising. :woot: efusco 03-14-2007, 12:18 PM Nice ain't it! I'm near 67 and anticipate my first 70mpg tank this spring. brick 03-14-2007, 12:43 PM I'm on track for a personal best tank. The bladder may throw off the calculated number but as far as the MFD is concerned I'm at least 7mpg better than any tank to date. Hovering around 57-58mpg right now. Cooler weather next week may knock it down but I'll soak it up as best I can until then. All I really care about is that the morning temps are in the 35-40F range. It's only when it drops below 32F at night that problems start. BailOut 03-16-2007, 09:27 AM I'm new to both my vehicle and hypermiling but I also noticed an MPG gain over the last week due to the average temperature getting up to about 54F. It's too early for champagne, though, as next week is bringing another cold front through and the average will drop back down into the high 30's or low 40's. We're also still on Winter gas through the last week of the month. Another thing dinging my MPG right now is the road conditions on Mt. Rose. The mountain had 6ft or so of snow about 3 weeks ago and it's started to melt and run off over the last week. Due to several watery spots on the road, particularly on some of the sharper downhill turns and cutbacks, I'm still running my tires at the manufacturer's rating in order to help maintain decent traction. Sledge 03-16-2007, 09:29 AM Cold mornings are back for a bit. Mileage dropping slowly. Meh. :) tbaleno 03-16-2007, 09:54 AM If you are driving on wet pavement higher pressure in the tires is better than the factory recomendation. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
