View Full Version : What does "FO" Mean (sensor scan)?

The other day, while checking the temps of the various sensors when I arrived home during a particularly "warm" (33F) day, I noticed the coolant temp at a high 98C. I re-checked a moment later to find "FO" displaying. Is this to indicate "fan on" or something of that nature?
The fan wasn't running and I couldn't find the code in the HCH II shop manual from Honda that I own. I had my grill block at 75% after a 23 mile, moderate speed commute. With a portion of the upper removed I managed to stay in the 85-87 range the next day with useof the heater as necessary to keep the coolant temps in the 80s Celsius.
1) is this an issue with the temps spiking to the 96-98C range and
2) should I check the fan fuses, circuit, etc for any failures?

I'd rather not toast my car if possible, as much as I'd like an excuse to buy a new Prius.

Thanks,

Mike
