It's the last week of the year!! Looks like the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded E10 is now firmly above the $3 mark. In a single week it has jumped 18 cents!

I hope everyone is having a nice holiday and looking forward to a wonderful new year. :)

Took a quick drive down to the bank today to make sure the Insight is used at least once a week (yeah, I'm jumpy about the IMA battery health after getting it replaced).

Heat wave today!

36F (27F windchill), 13mph wind from the SSE, overcast:

82.7mpg for 4.6mi (House to ATM and back)

The tank is up to 73.3mpg over 436.4mi with 11 of 20 bars remaining on the fuel gauge.

Sean, good reminder on the occasional trips in the Insight. It has been since last Monday for me and the weather forecast for the rest of the week is good temp wise but it's supposed to rain.:( I would take her out for a spin later but, we're taking my son out for his 22nd birthday tonight and I'm pretty sure the seating/load capacity of the Insight won't be sufficient.:p:D

What diamondlarry should have bought for his son: a skateboard and 2 pieces of rope.

Dallas and back today: 44,4mpg over 251,7 miles. Beat the other day by 5mpg :) I'm actually beginning to like the Echo...I could see getting myself a 5-speed model and stripping it down...

only drove 2 days last week and 4 days this week. Tomorrow I will not be driving ;)

total for the 6 days in the last 2 weeks of driving

22.2 MPG
159.1 Miles
7.16 gals used
I have 26% of fuel left (or from the guess gauge is just above 1/8)
353.3 miles on the tank so far.

My wife got me a Black & Decker EM100B energy monitor for Christmas. There is a small attachment you put on the Electrical meter and a display inside that it transmits to. It monitors the energy consumption of the house in kW's and estimates your monthly usage. We are usually running at about 1-1.3 kW per hour (I have not gone through all the appliances and AC\furnace to see how much they are sucking down). It also displays and estimate of cost/hour (you have to plug in your usage prices from your bill). Our range is $0.10 to $0.15 /hour.
Not bad, and it will be more of a tool for teaching the kids how much things use. I will post more when I start finding out how much things use. Happy New Year everyone, and good driving and FE to you Wayne and your trip.
