Just passed anniversary of getting our Prius (III/NAV).
Bought it at start of winter. Now 18,183 miles at 50.1 mpg calculated at the pump. This is my wife's daily driver. She does well, but just drives it. I drive when we are together, which covers the vast majority of highway trips and a little local driving.
Quite pleased given our 1.5 mile commute and many other short trips. Most of the miles are on long freeway drives, but the short trips hold us back, particularly in winter.
By season:
winter 46.2 mpg
spring 51.2
summer 51.4
autumn 51.7
Note that we have improved each season. Combination of learning to drive it and decreasing impact of weather. We held back on climate control some in the fall.
Best tank: 56.5 mpg (in 0F, took considerable effort)
Worst tank: 39.7
MID error in mpg runs 5% for us.
