The past couple of weeks I've seen encouraging signs that hybrids are becoming more mainstream in the Dallas area. Yesterday afternoon on the Bush Tollway, most of the trip was made along with a Toyota Camery Hybrid. Since she was cruising at 60 (if that), maybe she was getting 40mpg?
Also getting encouaged hybrids is not necessarily a "white geek" thing anymore. For the first time, I've seen hybrids driven by African-Americans, one of the two was a Saturn VUE SUV.
Some attitudes are not changing too fast - because I was a half-second slow responding to a green light, some Bubba whipped around me. I got weak and passed him. :D
