Hi All:

___Now that Prius II’s are being found for under invoice and HCH-II’s at ~ $500 over, I see the TCH’s are starting to get some action as well. I would expect to see the TCH fall to $500 - $1,000 over invoice within 2 - 3 months if gas prices do not go stupid over that same period of time.

___Good Luck

That's great news! I test drove a TCH tonight. The dealer had 13 Prius , 5 TCH and 2 THH on the lot. It drove well. I wasn't impressed with the display though. I tried to talk my wife into a Prius last night with no luck. She said she would settle for a TCH with a sunroof. They had a red with a sunroof, navi and the other bells and whistles. Her current car is an 04 red Solara convertible. I commented to the dealer about how many hybrids on his lot and he said his inventory was down. It must have been up ONE day. Usually, one or two at the most is all that I have seen. He said the only incentives being offered were the Federal Government credit. If anyone knows of a dealer in the midwest offering a super deal, please post it.

My wife saw the ABC blurb about overproduction and was asking the price difference in a Prius. All she saw last night was the $32,000+ sticker on the TCH.

Hi Msirach:

___I saw one go out at $1,500 over in AZ. the other day which is where this thread comes from.

___That $32K is a loaded up one for sure. Use Edmunds with every option and you will have the invoice. If and when you are ready, offer them a maximum of $1,500 over (in fact, let them make an offer to you first) and deal from that $1,500 over maximum DOWN :D

I just sent this comment to Edmunds:

I just want to express my dissatisfaction with your pricing data. Your 'TMV' for my new Camry Hybrid was about $1600 over MSRP. I bought one easily last week for $1600 UNDER MSRP. This wasn't a loss-leader. The MSRP was $27,989 for a new 'Magnetic Gray' with the moonroof package, mats, heated mirrors -- pretty much everything except leather and navigation. I found the inventory on the website at Avondale Toyota in Phoenix, AZ. The price was right there -- $26,343 (includes the destination charge). That's the price I paid, plus $299 doc fee, sales tax, and license.

I just bought the fully loaded (leather, navigation, moonroof, heated seats/mirrors) for about 1500 below msrp. Total was 28,500 (not including dealer extras). I think that the demand has gone down for this car since the tax credit is only half but in the end, you are probably saving more because when the car first came out, buyers paid over msrp to take advantage of the full tax credit.
