I usually put Mobil 1 synthetic in my car. I have no reason not to be happy wit it. Is there a better choice or something you would recommend. I just recently visited gassavers.org and searched this topic. I now have a splitting headache and more confused than ever. Is synthetic a waste? Need some guidance on what to do.
Thank you in advance for any info you may post.

I've been a long-time user of Mobil One - going back to the 70's.
Hi CoasterToasterXB:
___A lot has been written on the internet and a lot shouldn’t have been ;)
___In oils, hypermilers should concern themselves with the lowest kinematic viscosity for the most part. Mobil1 0W-20 is probably the king when it comes to this. If you look at it on a cost basis, a HQ non-synthetic 5W-20 will save you a few $’s overall between changes but not with the superior wear reduction and lengthier timeframe - breakdown capabilities of a great synthetic. I run 15,000 between changes with Mobil1 0W-20. With a HQ non-synthetic, I wouldn’t run but 10,000 with a non-synthetic based on some of the Oil Analysis posts over at BITOG and a given automobiles manual recommendations.
___Good Luck

I run M1 0w-20 in the Civic and a blend of M1 0w-20 and 5w-20 in the Accord. I do 10k mile oil changes and use either M1 oil filter or PureOne. Also change out tranny fluid in both cars every third oil change. Accord has a filter for the tranny and to date Ive only used the Honda OEM filter. A PureOne or Wix Gold would be nice. Will have to check on that.

Some folks change the filter out midway between oil changes. I would probley do that if I was going 15k miles per change. My Hondas seem to make alot more engine noise over 10k miles on a oil change. Some also under fill. I wont do that either.
You mile may vary. Do as you feel best.
