Driver was unhurt, but the cars electrical components were totaled!

As explained by the video posted by Robert... they do. As long as you don't hang your arm out the window! :eek:

I didn't watch the video, but I remember on an episode of Top Gear they put a VW underneath a tesla coil, or something like that, to simulate a car getting hit by lightning.

Hi All:

About 15-years back, I was in a Nuke refresher training class when one of the Shift Sup’s was leaving a bit early in the middle of a horrific T-Storm. I remember seeing the flash hit his car just after he left his parking spot and him coasting another few feet to a stop. The car’s electrical systems were totaled as was the car. There were 10 or so of us LOAO but all were thankful it was not our car that got hit.
