Diesel Lover

Ah :) It is that time of year again when folks like me get to pick a new car to teach with. Last year I renewed my Vauxhall Corsa 1.3 Diesel with the same car, only with the 1.7 Diesel but there isn't too much in the way of comfort in that vehicle. As pictured here...

This year is really different though, franchise fees for the company I'm with have increased dramatically and will probably do so again with the VAT rate going from 17.5 to 20% here in the UK. Therefore I have decided to branch out on my own and form the "Eco School of Motoring (ESM)". Traditionally, driving instructors and companies just lease the cars, have them for 12-18 months, hand them back and then get a new one, but this adds an amazing amount onto our monthly costs. So I've decided to break from the mould and just buy outright and save 35-50% of my monthly costs. A lot of things have to be considered here, insurance, tax and fuel economy being the most important, but also the availability of parts and speediness of dealers to fix any faults that will come up. Comfort is also a big factor in this choice as I'm sat in the car all day, which does nothing for the waist line.
Therefore I've opted for the car that all brits love... THE FEZZA

Thats right... Ford Fiesta 1.6 Econetic TDCI. 7200 Miles, £9000! An absolute bargain! Financing has worked out at only £120 per month for this car... compared to the £490 a month I'm paying right now for car and in other franchise gubbins.
New work car, and new fun car I'm getting this year... Oh this is gonna be fun :D
And yes, I'll be doing what I do now, teaching these younglings how to drive to get the most MPG ;)
