How are your tire pressures? What techniques do you use? Do you try to time lights? How are your acceleration rates from stop? Are you able to give your self some good coasting time to stop lights?

Hi Mike!
Welcome aboard. 33 is pretty darn good for a 5 minute commute!

Hello Mike

33 mpg is good for such a short drive.

I have a much longer drive everyday. Im currently trying to improve my first 5 mile stone cold part of the drive. And its a Bear.

Welcome Mike!

In high school, I had some short commutes and rarely got over 20mpg (back in 1975).

Tire pressures are set at max sidewall 44-45 psi

slow accle rates up to 42 where t.c lockups and rpm's drop a few hundred. once locked have to keep a light/steady foor on gas pedal. if i let off comepletely it unlocks and revs jump up.

i have been eoc'in up to red light when possble.

there only 2 lights i have to worry about on my morning commute and i can usualy make those. have been timing them cause one will go red when there nobody there on side street that has to cross.

also i let someone else trip the light while i'm coasting up to them.
