If you could invite anyone living today to dinner, who would that be?

I'll take a shot:

Burt Rutan
Craig Vetter
Ed Begley Jr.
AHnuld
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Madonna
Mel Gibson
Jay Leno
Lee Iaccoca
Putin

Putin, with Ed Begley, Jr. a second, just in case Putin couldn't afford the travel costs.

As much as I'd love to feast my eyes on Scarlet Johansson, her 15 minutes of fame will be short. I prefer lifetime achievers, like Nelson Mandela, or the astronomer John Dobson, any Nobel Peace Prize winner (including Obama).

I'd want to invite two: For example, I think it would be a hoot to have Rush Limbaugh and Bill Clinton at the same table. Or Hillary Clinton and Ann Coulter.

Yes, 2 would be much more fun although I think I'd settle for anybody who would be able to come round in a LEAF.

I only have one pick...

Leonard Nimoy

I would love to pick his brain.

You did limit me to living people, so there are a few that are out.

Sorry, I could manage w/o most of Chuck's dinner guests. I'll add Stephen Hawking for now, even though I don't know if he needs somebody to chew his food.

:omg:

Ted would be a good one...

And Tolkien is one of the ones included if he didn't say living.

Among the respected dead I would take Mark Twain (or maybe Hunter Thompson), but like Twain I suspect that better company is found in hell than in heaven.

Were language no barrier, Stalin and Hitler would both probably be among the top dinner companions. You wouldn't be able to do that much evil without charming your companions.

Reason I limited to living people is the top ten of all time would be on most everybody's list and not very unique.

Warren Buffett. I would ask him "What would you do if you only had $1000.00 cash, no personal connections to Wall Street and wanted to make $1,000,000 in ten years?"

Dalai Lama. "Where is the most peaceful place you have ever lived?"

Pick only one (http://www.rankopedia.com/11/Hollywoods-most-Eligible-Bachelorette-2010/Step1/18184.htm) "Does everyone know your just as, if not MORE intelligent as you are beautiful?"

Barack Obama. "Mr President, Will you continue to allow big corporations to control our government's policies, if so, which ones are you supporting because Warren would like to know?

Wayne Gerdes. "How the hell can you keep getting better fuel economy in a Honda automatic than I do in a freakin 3 cylinder 5 speed?" :D - Dale

Oh, I thought the question meant "who other than your significant other...."

On another topic entirely...is there a smiley for desperately attempting spin control?
